What's your Blog Juice?

Thursday, October 12, 2006

My Blog Juice Blog Juice is a tool by the Text-Link-Ads. It is a calculator to check how juicy your blog is, which cover the aspect of Technorati ranking, Alexa, Bloglines and links.

I'm really happy to see a 0.2 on this less than one week old blog, which is not even indexed by Google yet. So what's your Blog Juice? Have you checked it yet? For your information, most blogs have their Blog Juice slightly higher than their PageRank, but not all of them.

p/s: I just notice that what I blog is more on web development, but not tech. Wondering if I should change my blog name and URL, and if so, what should I change to? Please suggest your ideas.

Hello guys,

I'm sorry for not allowing anonymous comments since this blog was created. I did not notice that - until I read the comment posted by Trevo, which is the first comment ever on this blog.

By now - a blogger account is not needed at all to post comments, so feel free to speak up from now on. But please, do not spam viagra or porn links.

Thanks. :)

Fraud clicks - one of the most common reason of getting banned from Google Adsense. We might not know if there is any fraud clicks on our ads, but the Adsense Team wouldn't listen to you. Therefore, it is our job to make sure there is no fraud clicks on our ads.

To do this, publisher will normally spend some money to buy some scripts that will track their Adsense performance. Publisher like me, will not be able to buy those scripts, as I don't have any credit cards. But fortunately, there's a free script that can track your Adsense performance.

It's a great news, we can now prevent fraud clicks and protect our Adsense account from being banned. That's why, I name it "Publisher's Hero". With this script, I spotted a few visitors of my blog are clicking my ads like 10 times.

Immediately, I sent an email to the Adsense Team informing them about the clicks. If I didn't do that, I might get banned too. If you really concern about your Adsense account, you should get a copy of that script.

However, the Adsense Team did told me that they doesn't encourage third party script to be used, although it is not againts the TOS.

Visit AdLogger to download the script.

StumbleUpon Traffic

Tuesday, October 10, 2006

Driving traffics to your website or blog is one of the best way to increase your Adsense or other PPC/CPC programmes earnings. And one of the easiest way to drive traffic to your blog is by using the StumbleUpon toolbar. However, this will only works if you have good or interesting content on your website or blog. This is because if your content is good, people who's stumbling will rate it as "good", and it will be shared by other stumblers. Your website will also appear more frequently by then.

To do this, you must have a StumbleUpon toolbar. After you've downloaded it and registered for an account, you can start stumbling like others. Now, go to your website or blog and find any content that you think that others will like it, and click on the "I like it" button. It will then appear on other's browser when they stumble. If they don't like your website, your website will not last long on StumbleUpon. But if they like it, you will see your traffic will shot up just like a rocket.

Good luck!

Filtering MFA Websites

Monday, October 09, 2006

Howdy,

MFA websites means "Made for Adsense", which means websites made mainly just to earn money from Adsense. Normally, their tactic will be making it looks like a search engine website. When you search a term on that website, it will bring you to a new page, and all you see will be Adsense's advertisement, and not the search result.

Most people will thought that the advertisement is their search result, and will click on it to check it out. By then, the MFA website owner earn some bucks from it. To maximize their earnings using MFA sites, they sign-up for Adwords, and start a campaign to advertise their MFA websites. Since they are just earning thru Adsense, they won't be paying high price for the click.

Therefore, filtering MFA websites from appearing on your website will increase your earnings per click. However, some users claim that their earnings did drop after they've filter the MFA sites. In this case, you should do an experiment to test it out. Choose which way earn you the most.

After observing the ads appearing on my website for almost 2 weeks, I have came out a MFA list. It is up to you to filter it or not, but I would say that it worth a try.

To filter them, login to your Adsense account, then go to AdSense Setup -> Competitive Ad Filter. Add the list of MFA websites and click on the "Save changes" button. Wait for a few days and observe your earnings. If it do increase, continue filtering them. If it is worse, do not filter them anymore.
